Add Exercise Into Everyday RoutinesAfter your LAP-BAND bariatric surgery, one of the things you have to start adding into your life is exercise. You can't go from no exercise to being at the gym 3 times a day overnight, so help yourself get in shape gently and slowly by adding exercise into your everyday life. In the morning, take a few minutes to stretch yourself awake. Bend over and touch your toes, then reach to the sky and feel your body stretch. It is a great way to greet the day and helps you wake up gently. Everyone has probably heard that to increase exercise you should park farther away from the store and walk to the doors. This gives you a little cardio work, and every little bit helps. Now is the time to start parking in the far-away spaces instead of as close to the store as you can. When you bring home your groceries, squat a few extra times to put the low-shelf items away to stretch out your leg muscles. If you have to reach up high to put something away, hold the stretch for a few seconds for each item to limber up your muscles. Canned goods make great mini-weights and you can do a few bicep curls before you put them away. Reader Comments (1) |
