Mario LAP-BAND SurgeryMario Weight Loss Success with LAP-BAND System
On April 10, 2007 after having endured a 3 week liquid diet in preparation for my surgery it was finally done, I had the Lap Band surgery and hours later was home. The following day I immediately began my new life and went out for a walk in order to get some exercise. Within 2 days I had returned to work and continued with my walks extending them daily. I had a tool, the Lap Band, which helped control my eating patterns following the steps that I had been provided with by Dr. Levine, Debbie Bird and the rest of his staff . There were many changes that were endured and it is a constant learning experience living with the band. Through my experience in having had the surgery and living with the band for 2 years, I can say to pay close attention to what you feel and learn your limitations. You will have to be conscious of your decisions and follow the steps that are provided to you, this will help you use the tool as effectively as possible. The other key in having greater then expected success is to make a complete lifestyle change; it is not only having the band and eating less, but eating right and exercising on a daily basis. I can not stress enough that your food choice and daily exercise routine will play a great role in your success. Last but certainly not the least and a very important piece of the puzzle, a strong support group; each person will find this in a way to fit their character and personality. First and foremost I have to thank my Wife, who provided me with strength and support and contended with all the challenges that were presented during this experience; I must also thank my family, friends, Dr. Levine, Debbie Bird and the rest of his staff for their support. |
